What is up with the F40?
It seems to have a power limit at low speeds (as evidenced by its slow takeoff performance). The downside of that is that when you go up a hill & your speed drops, the power output drops and you slow down even more. When your speed drops to less than 5km/h the scooter just stops - *that* is a BS feature on top of a BS feature.
power limit at low speed + stopping when the speed drops, terrible terrible features.
I need to be able to configure those with a custom Firmware, or I'll just return it as a piece of trash that doesn't function properly.
I thought it would have plenty of power & be able to go up an incline. The manual mentions 20° but my residential street which would be less than 5% (or about 3°) & it just chugs, slows down and then stops (I'm like 90kg so well within spec).
So disappointed. My old M365 (non pro) goes up it fine.
F40 Firmware needed desperately
Re: F40 Firmware needed desperately
I agree. I feel like it has more power... but it just slows down on inclines... We need CFW urgently.
Re: F40 Firmware needed desperately
Hi! Same issue for me with a Ninebot F40E. We really need a cfw, it's a very annoying feature.

Re: F40 Firmware needed desperately
is it possible to swap F40 dashboard by M365 dashboard then flash it to unlock speed limit?

One year later it's maybe too late, but I still want to answer because some other people will land here and may think about this exact thing.
The lock, is not in the dashboard, it's in the mainboard (ESC) down in the floor. The Dashboard it's just a Dashboard( + Power Button + Bluetooth). You connect through that bluetooth in order to communicate and change the region on the ESC.
If I am not mistaken, DRV version is actually the Firmware version of the device which communicate with bluetooth, which, if downgradable you might be able to change the region later on. However, that's still on the mainboard together with the ESC, not inside the dashboard.
Therefore, replacing the Dashboard/Display from any other scooter, even if might be compatible, the DRV version will not change so it's not helpful
