Any ideas why some of us are unable to connect via BT and others can?
Two modes.
Working BT
scooter boots up and then BT symbol flashes until paired.
Non-working BT
scooter boots up, BT symbol only seen for ~1 second, then disappears and only the red (S) remains. Cannot connect to app.
Also very curious if I can send in my dash to be flashed to then unlock 20mph + better braking. The braking is very very mushy/loose. Certainly could not stop fast enough if one was about to crash into something.

Why not just help on this thread if you're being nice so it's just shared with everyone? Anyways, the Segway app doesn't offer any beneficial uses, imo, the scooter still operates fine without it and at $200 + a 3 year warranty that covers pretty much everything, it was a steal.Jeez, I knew this was going to happen when I saw this deal online. Re: Walmart Special ES4 Advice!
Summary of where I'm at so far:
I bought 2. Both have the flashing Bluetooth icon. When I connect with the official or third party apps via Android, the scooter beeps and Bluetooth logo becomes solid. Locked in Sport mode, 15.5 mph/25 km/h, can't flash firmware like everyone.
Bluetooth features:
-Official android app:
---Lock/unlock the scooter. Locking just makes it so gas pedal doesn't work and the electronic brake is applied when you try to roll the scooter manually. It makes a relatively quiet beep if you try to roll it. Would fail as a deterrent in my opinion. Also comically, you cannot turn off the scooter while it is locked, so you have the flashing RGB LEDs on the undercarriage continuously going while it's locked.
---Modify regen: low (default)/med/high. This is how much the scooter applies electronic braking when you're cruising without pressing gas or brakes.
---Cruise control: on/off. If on, if you hold the gas for 5 seconds straight while riding, the scooter will beep and then keep the gas on without needing to press gas until you brake.
-Through 3rd party android app m365 tools:
---Turn on/off tail light. This allows you to make it so the tail light isn't always on, instead it's only on when brakes are applied. Personally I'd keep it on.
---Modify the undercarriage LED lighting pattern/color or turn off.
-Through 3rd party android app Nine Dash: Can change scooter display to mph or km/h.
-There is no ability to change max speed or sport mode so far.
-Ninebot-Flasher does NOT seem to be able to flash/change serial number.

I found the same with IAP. I also figured out I had to turn on keepalives to stay connected. I get a beep whenever I send any commands but nothing ever seems to take. I went ahead and ordered another dash to hack on. I'm gonna try that this week.
FWIW, between me and my two friends with these, all have the same experience as far as app capability (Ninebot official), top speed (15), etc.

Where did you end up buying your dash? There are so many generic ones, not sure if it matters.-Ninebot-Flasher does NOT seem to be able to flash/change serial number.

I bought the Facaily (or whatever ) brand on Amazon. For no reason other than Amazon's Choice and same price as all the others. We'll see how that goes.Where did you end up buying your dash? There are so many generic ones, not sure if it matters.

Thanks for this update, Royal. I have found the same things, so thanks for documenting here. I'm annoyed by the fact that m365 tools always defaults back to km/h, each time I open that app. It's an easy toggle to fix, but kind of annoying.Summary of where I'm at so far:

Also, of note, Walmart has completely removed the page for this, so we can't say for sure what it said in the ad. :-( However, this is still a page up for a $399 version of this, also renewed.
I'm hitting up [email protected] to see if they'll replace the broken bell that came with mine. I'm not so worried about the bell, but more curious how their service will be. This is the "manufacturer" warranty, not the Walmart extended.

Re: Walmart Special ES4 Advice!
Ah, okay. I just purchased an "OEM" one off ebay for $50, hopefully it is indeed OEM, if not, ebay has my back. I went with OEM since I've read it's the easiest way compared to buying an aftermarket one and having to flash custom firmware on it using stlink, which requires soldering.I bought the Facaily (or whatever ) brand on Amazon. For the two of you that purchased dashboards online, I appreciate you taking the initiative!
Do we not think it would be possible to flash the current dashboard after doing the ST-Link method (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kba7yK9 ... e=youtu.be)?
