Just tried this on a F25 - although it did work to change the top speed it definitely causes strange behavior at low speed including stalling and screeching. I imagine this is due to the fact that the F40 has a different motor than the F25 and F30. I decided not to run as F40, but the F30 option seems to give it a little more pep and can handle hills better. Would love to find a way to raise top speed without the motor issues.

Slightly off topic,

Does anyone have any photos or comparisons of the motors? F20 vs F30 vs F40

Specifically the internal copper windings, stator height, magnet thickness, etc.

My guess is that most of the differences in performance between each model is primarily firmware and battery current related.

Also, possible that it isn't cost effective to have a different motor design for each, happy to be proven wrong on this.

P.s. Just bought f20, looking to do some performance and battery mods.

Confirm acceleration issues on F30 after applying region update. Also found when slowing down quickly it would lurch forwards a bit.

After reverting back to F30 Global it seemed better.

I have updated my firmware recently using the official segway app before applying this update, so perhaps the new firmware affects it?
Did you find how to fix the break thing with the f30

Seen a few questions about unlocking the F40a (Australia ver) I don’t have an Android device so just wanted to share that is is possible using the E series guide, method 2 with ninebot iap. I Just connected to the F40a via a windows pc with Bluetooth. Changed the R in the serial number to an E, confirmed in ninebot iap it had updated the serial number. Just had to reconnect the scooter via the Segway app as it’s now seen as a new scooter. Can confirm it now does 30k.

Hi guys,

first of all, sorry for my english, it's not my mother tongue. I would like to know if the issue with the F30 is resolved?

Thanks in advance

I am also an Australian owner of an F40.
Does anybody know (or does any firmware knowledgeable persons visit this forum?) about the above mentioned acceleration issues?!

It would be nice to increase the speed of the segway Ninebot f40 with normal throttle response.

Are the concerns about blocking/breaking the electric motor with a high voltage/ampage from low speeds legitimate? Is an overload actually possible with the "Global40" region change and if so, Why? Why would they rate the battery for that motor and throttle(converter)?! Or is it because the firmware is faulty and if so why?!
Has scooterhacking updated it via the app and thus also updated this OP?!

SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Thank you for the response.

Kind regards.

After changing the region to the globak f40 (30km / h) on the ninebot f40e scooter, the speed dropped to 24 km / h. Only after switching to the EU f40e 25km'h region did the speed return to the normal level (25km / h).
Hence the question. Does it work on newly purchased scooters?
Is there any other way to increase the speed of the scooters or am I doing something wrong? : D and how to return to the original region setting.

I have unfortunately upgraded to DRV 5.6.9 and it really sucks.

I'm trying to downgrade it to 5.4.9 or another earlier version using IAP and Ninebot Flasher, however both these apps say 'bad file' when trying to select the drv549.bin.enc file.

What's the recommended way of downgrading firmware on F series scooters with Windows?
