A bunch of bricked G30Ds seeking for help

Hey guys,

in a German board currently a few people have bricked their G30Ds by unsuccessfully flashing a custom FW with XiaoFlasher. This was caused by different actions. Someone plugged / unplugged the charging cable while flashing, I for example accidently flashed a M365 FW, someone did everything correct but anyway ended with a bricked scooter.

We all have the same symptoms:
- error 10 flashing on the dashboard
- started after flashing a firmware
- red led on the controller

Since there is no one who did succesfully unbrick his scooter, I just wanted to ask here. Maybe someone here can help some frustrated Germans. :D

When I am connecting with different apps I am getting the following results:

M365 Down: Connected, but no answer from any of the actions.
Image

XiaoFlasher: Connected, but can't get any information and perform any action.

Just as an addition, this is what XiaoFlasher showed me a few days ago BEFORE the brick:

Ninebot-Flasher: Connected, but no option selectable

I don't own a ESx Dashboard, but ordered a new G30 controller and also a ST-Link.

Now I have some questions:

1. Does anyone know if the G30 controller (AliExpress) does work with the G30D scooter? This is what my controller currently does look like. It is different from the version I ordered.

Larg image of controller: click

2. Can I do something with only a ST-Link adapter to save the controller? If yes, where should I sold the three wires?

3. Can I save the controller with the help of the ESx Dashboard?

Btw, I had some problems uploading images here, so I uploaded them via dropbox.

Thanks in advance.

What up my fellow German scooter riders!!! I as well own a max that's why I was checking in on the channel, yet after reading this first new post I have a similar situation... to first answer and hopefuly help out the gentleman asking were to connect the stink to hopefully unbrick his scoot here is a link for a short video on you tube showing some connection points...https://youtu.be/8tvGtuSqqfc
Not to confirm they are correct though, just passing on what I know hopefully to help out... I as well bricked a scooter using xiaoflasher app. Mine was a m365 pro, yet all the same conditions as explained... still reading error code 10 and will not connect... hopefully we figure this one out guys. As of now I can confirm xiaoflasher app did this to my scooter as well!!! But all in all happy scooten gents. Scooten out of The USA, Chandler,Arizona!!!

Hey hey, thanks for your answer :) Unfortunately my controller doesn't look like this (see picture in the first post), so this doesn't help me. But thank you anyway. I also hope that someday we figure this out and can use the scooters again. :D So also good luck to you.

Good job having lost time investigating, the answer was on that very forum the whole time.

Why can't you all just read? Even the time it took for you to write that post was more than enough for you to go look for that pinned topic which you surely saw passing by your screen multiple times, with a username in red, written in all letters "unbrick your ESC!".
Whoever gave out such instructions might be to blame, but if you thought it was a good idea to flash a Xiaomi M365 firmware on a Ninebot Max before asking around and if you don't look for solutions before whining, then you're the only one to blame.

Hi,

I wanted to write an answer earlier, but was banned for quite a time.

Of course I saw and carefully read the linked post before I created this thread. Thank you for writing it, it gave me some hope and it was one of the really rare instructions back then.

But the main problem was that I had a German controller. On the German G30D-controller the solding "points" are on the back of the controller. And this is what was so confusing, I didn't looked at the back of the controller and didn't know where and what to sold. This is why I also attached an image of the German controller. No one has flashed and documented the process for the German controller back then. And I also wasn't even sure if I could use the same dump files, because it was so different.

I also didn't blame anyone. Choosing the wrong zip file was only my mistake, that's true. And of course having a bricked controller is a risk, if you want to modify the firmware. I know this. I was just seeking for help.

But anyway, I just solved it by buying a new controller. Now a few months later there are now some people who successfully unbricked the German controller and documented the process, so people like me, who doesn't have a lot of experience in this regard can also try it.

Kind regards

Hi.
I have done a full tutorial on how to fix regular g30 dump to a g30d controller. After that you can use cfw

In your findings, did you happen to see anything about which fuse blows the most frequently on the G30 controller? I know myself and plenty of people are hesitant to throw away this expensive ESC especially if theres a fix for common blown fuses. It really sucks having this unusual paperweight, and replacing it isn't financially viable all the time. I'm also looking for a schematics sheet on this ESC too but havent found one.

No idea actually. Have you blow a fuse on the controller? Let me know if you.find the schedule!
