Max dashboard BLE555 ST-Link guide (flash CFW)

Postby Lothean Sat Dec 07, 2019 12:13 am

With the toolkit comes the flashing tutorial, here we go.
This tutorial will guide you through the installation of BLE555 for your Max, an alternative BLE firmware to remove encryption and allow for the use of all ESx apps.

Needed :
  • ST-Link V2
  • Soldering gear
  • TH10 screwdriver
  • Windows computer
  • The Max BLE555 ST-Link archive, unzipped somewhere [Download]
How-to:
  • Undo the 3 TH10 screws of the dashboard cover

This should reveal the dashboard, along with its potting compound
If you can flash while the dashboard is still attached to the scooter, you can stop disassembling.
If you need to remove the dashboard entirely, take the handlebar apart and extract the dashboard. If you chose this option, you will have to supply 5V to the red wire of the throttle connector.
  • Remove the C2 capacitor and hook up your ST-Link according to the following wiring instructions:
You will need to remove the potting compound at these locations, I recommend using a plastic tool to not damage the PCB.

  • (install ST-Link drivers)
  • Make sure scooter is turned on, or provide 5V power to the red wire of throttle/brake wires.
  • Run the connect_dashboard.bat in the previously extracted archive.
  • If you see *** Programming Finished *** then it means flash was successful. You can reassemble the scooter.
Done! You can now upload firmware using ES DownG.

(The ESx dashboard swap still works)

No you can't the connectors are different and hard to find. A replacement MAX dash will be cheaper than a 365dash and a matching cable connector shipping, soldering and messing the wiring up.

In other news the G30D dash looks different. I have to take it apart and look for the C2 since it's not at the same location...

Hi everyone. I been doing some research and I'm cane up with a theory. Please correct or add to it if you feel compelled to do so. Ok...I believe it's possible to use an OTG cable with a st-link in conjunction with the ninerift app. Is this possible or am I dreaming?

Hello,
I flashed my German G30D with ST-Link V2 and BLE555.
All work fine, can flash CFW ect..

But i notice 2 things now.
1. After flash the digits has changed. Now speed is shown as 01 / 02 / 03 KMH bevor it was 1 / 2 / 3 KMH

2. The Display brightness changed to darker. If i turn on for a second the brightness is ok, than becom much darker. On a suny day you cant good see the Display.

See my picture.

Is it possible that someone can change the Code in BLE555 for the Problem?

How do you take off the c2 capacitor? Do I pry it off, or use a soldering iron? Top or bottom?

That capacitor is too small for my unskilled ass. I just wiggled it free with a tweezers and it eventually came off.

I successfully flashed BLE555, and seemingly installed some custom firmware. There is just one problem. The battery light is blinking red and the speak keeps saying "UH OH" or something of the like. I am thinking I may need to use the `Bypass Ninebot BMS requirement` setting.

EDIT: Yup that did it. Scooter works. The speak was making siren sounds but I just disconnected it. The warning said I wouldn't be able to see the battery info but its still available on both the scooter display and es_downg. :partyparrot:

OK,
the Problem seems normal!

I tried today a G30 Dashboard.
First desoldert C2 and after that the brightness changed to darker after one turn on!
The digits for Speed are normal 1 / 2 / 3 KMH.
After flashing BLE555 the digits change to 01 / 02 / 03 KMH.

Can´t understand why others dont talk about that Problem!

Where is the C2 located on the G30D dashboard?
