Will the G30LD controller work as a replacement in a G30 Max?

I have a Ninebot Max G30, and I fried the controller (metal and shiny housing). So I ordered a replacement. I mistakenly ordered the G30LP controller (black plastic housing). I'm thinking of returning it, but before I do, does anyone know if this part would work in the G30? Would I be able to use the scooter hacking utility still?

No effect on the engine. Only aesthetic effect.
