Beginners Guide?

Postby Dodge62 Tue Mar 22, 2022 11:21 am

Hi Folks, new to this forum.

Is there a beginner's guide anywhere? Most of the info on the Wiki and FAQ seems to assume you already know what you're doing.

For example, it looks like I'm going to need an Android phone, and I assume this connects to the scooter via Bluetooth. But I can't see that stated anywhere.

It would seem to make sense to have a pinned starter guide which includes
- basics (e.g. you need an Android phone with Bluetooth enabled)
- download links to the tools for installing firmware (and maybe something about why you would choose one over another)
- simple instructions on sideloading apk files, if that's necessary

If I missed something which contains this, please point me to it. If not, please consider such a guide for future people like me.

Unless you think it's best to keep things difficult so only people who know what they're doing are tempted to mess with their scooters - I guess that might be a valid attitude.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome! You can read here for a beginner's guide, but in short: yes, you need an Android phone with Bluetooth enabled. Download the necessary tools for installing firmware, and for sideloading APK files, you'll need to enable "Unknown sources" in your phone's settings. A pinned starter guide would indeed be helpful for new users like you.
